Overview

Ab Initio ("the App") is a Spanish IB vocabulary study app developed by M. Kotsopoulou-Sofroniou Petros. This policy explains clearly and completely what data the App does and does not collect.

Data We Collect

None.

The App does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:

No account or login is required
No name, email address, or contact information is collected
No location data is collected
No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are included
No advertising SDKs are included
No data is sent to any server

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults):

Word progress (known / shown counts per word)	Track which vocabulary words you have mastered
Study session history	Show your score history, streak, and chapter progress

This data never leaves your device. It is deleted permanently when you delete the App.

Third-Party Services

The App uses iOS AVSpeechSynthesizer for Spanish text-to-speech pronunciation. This is a built-in Apple framework that operates entirely on-device. No audio or text is transmitted externally.

The App contains no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, including children under 13. Because no personal data is collected, the App fully complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and equivalent international regulations (GDPR, CCPA).

Changes to This Policy

If the App is updated in a way that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use of the App after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
